Once again, conditions today have been consistently poor. For the safety of all involved, Alan, Tony and I took the decision this morning to postpone racing till tomorrow.
Those of you following the weather station would have seen at 11 o’clock the wind was still up at 30mph, and has remained so all day, with gusts up to 40mph this afternoon. The decision was not taken lightly, and disappointing to all who had put in a lot of time and effort planning and preparing for this weekend. We were all keen to enjoy some good competitive racing today.
Looking forward to tomorrow, Races 1-3 are postponed to Sunday 23rd June, first Warning signal 10.27. Races 4-6 will follow immediately after Races 1-3.
The first race on Sunday 23rd June will also be the Chris Hull Memorial Trophy for Windward/Leeward Catamarans, as originally scheduled.
We will meet tomorrow morning at 09:00 to review the conditions and plan for the day, when the club will be open for breakfast, with tea and coffee available from the bar. Even if conditions are poor, I am sure, like today, if you wait an hour there will be some Sprints in action to entertain us from the bar!
I hope to see many of you at the club tonight to enjoy the BBQ, Beer… and foam!

This boat is ideal as a step up from a Topaz or Pico, suits a wide age/ability/weight range, it is very good in sea or flat water. It can be rigged from mast down to sails up in about 30 minutes making it ideal if you need to tow the boat to the sea or lake. A simple and forgiving boat, that is lively and fun. It will also suit those wishing to get the family into sailing. Continue Reading »
