Cadet Week 2024
2 weeks to go!
All cadets need to wear a full wetsuit, buoyancy aid, boots – spray top, hat, sunglasses, gloves are useful
Check your boat is in good working order – boats must have sail numbers and 8m painters
All adults on and in the water are required to wear a buoyancy aid. Stingray parents are expected to be in the water to lift the child in and out of the Oppies

15.00-17.00 Registration
16.00 Support briefly for safety crew
Monday 5th August – Main briefing 9.30am

TBYC and TEYC Cadet combined event
15 young sailors had a great time sailing to Thames Estuary Yacht Club with Cadets from TEYC on Sunday. Upon arrival they enjoyed a BBQ and games. The event was organised by Andras, with thanks.

Race Officers Notice
RACE OFFICERS – PLEASE NOTE
From the TBYC Sailing Instructions. Don’t get yourself protested!
9.2 The Course – Shore Box Starts – Club Series Racing
Shore Box starts are to be used only when:
a) The Committee Boat is in use for an Open Event other than club racing
b) The Committee Boat is unusable and is agreed with either the Rear Commodore or Sailing Secretary
c) For Mid-Week, Winter and Icicle Series or when noted in the club calendar.
If racing is to be conducted from the Shore Box an orange flag will be flown from the shore box gantry.
The course will be designated on the blackboard at the West end of the Bosun’s Hut.

Sun 21 Jul 2024 11:30 Summer Sun – ARO – Volunteer please
The club tow car (BMW X3) is available to launch RIBs (any club member with a clean license over 25 is insured to drive it)
If you have a duty coming up and want a refresher on what to do please come along to any race and let the Duty Officer know if you would like to join a displacement or the committee boat to help / observe.
Don’t forget you can swap a duty with a VOLUNTEER PLEASE duty by emailing [email protected]

Cadet – Piranhas and Barracudas Training
This Sunday, 14th July we have combined training for Barracudas and Piranhas.
Briefing is at 16.00 (on sea wall, changed and rigged) Leaving the beach at 16.15.
We will be finished in good time to see England win the Euro finals!
