Congratulations to all sailors who enjoyed fantastic conditions and a great day out on the water yesterday. TBYC was well represented in the race, lets get as many people down to BYC for the BBQ and prize giving on Friday.
Once again thank you to Tony, Toby, Simon and their crews who manned our 3 ribs, providing safety cover for all competitors yesterday, always a reassuring sight to know we are looked after by such experience and competent safety boats. If you see them at the bar, buy them a drink please.
Well done Mike for sailing his Hurricane single handed, completing the course with a capsize by South Shoebury! We may need to look into briefing with course cards, chart and compass for some of the sprints next year..!
The annual Nore race is being run this Sunday by Benfleet Yacht Club.
As an additional safety measure members are being asked to sign out and back in at the bosun’s hut at the top of the slipway, so that we are aware of how many boats are taking part and to ensure that all have returned safely at the end of the day.
Hi everyone,
Just a quick reminder that Friday night dining started again last week with our new chef in place and we hope to carry it on every Friday on request as a bookings only basis. If you wish to try out our Friday night dining please call a member of our team on 07851759265 and we can reserve a table for you.
This week in the club we have our usual Sunday carvery from 12:30 until 2:30 and we will also be open this weekend for pre sailing and baguettes will be available from the bar for post sailing. Kind regards Lisa

The winds for the Nore Race on Sunday 30th June are predicted to be F2/3 gusting 4, from the West or WSW. Just right.
It might change but the days before and after also look good so if the weather slips or accelerates there is still a good chance of good sailing weather.
At Benfleet Yacht Club we expect entrants to wait and check the weather carefully.
So we will keep the race sheets open until Saturday 2pm.
The extra time should make it possible to take late entries by hand to the clubhouse.
It should be a great day’s sailing, and we have the Prizegiving evening to look forward to on Friday 5th July.
See you there! Phil Bostock, Sailing Sec for BYC
The Nore Race is sponsored by Dauntless Boat Yard, and has been for years.
The Committee boat will be anchored by the Mulberry for competitors to return to after the Nore Race on Sunday. You’ll be welcome aboard for hot and cold drinks, the loo and a comfortable seat. If you have any kit that you’d like to stow on board SS4 before the race, give it to Janet Willsmer, John Casson or Alex Volohov, who will be on board from 8am, or maybe one of the RIBs will pass it on board for you. The weather forecast is looking good at the moment.
