My name is Steve and I will be taking over as chef at the club next week. I wanted to think of a new name for the catering department, something to do with sailing and cooking, and I’ve come up with The Galley Kitchen.
I’ve already received texts and welcomes from many of you, thanks!
My first day will be doing the carvery this Sunday 18th. Mick Killkelly, of Butlers Fish, has kindly offered to come and help me, as he already knows how everything works there. I’m sure a lot of you will know him already.
After Sunday I will be in the kitchen at the normal times. I hope in time to be able to offer you some really good food. I like to use fresh, seasonal ingredients and will try to offer good value and a choice of something for everyone. I will post a menu up in the next few days to give you an idea of what will be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Any comments or feedback is always welcome.
I know Paul has already put my phone number on the website, but just to repeat it is 07947 741946. I have also created a dedicated email address for getting in touch with me: [email protected]
Looking forward to meeting you all and getting started.
We are sure you will all welcome Steve Bullus who will be joining us as our permanent caterer from Sunday 18th January.
Steve looks forward to welcoming members for a full range of meals at our regular opening times and hopes to offer more outside of these times where possible.
I would ask you all to support Steve as he gets used to our environment and members.
If you want to speak to Steve for bookings or parties, his contact phone number is: 07947 741946 .
Steve will initially be offering the popular Sunday Carvery on the 18th and will be requiring bookings to identify numbers. Please phone or text Steve with your name and number of required seats.
Unfortunately Lesley is a little unwell at present and therefore Lunchtime Catering will not be available until further notice. We all hope that Lesley recovers soon and look forward to seeing her.
Many many thanks indeed to all those who made our annual New Year’s Day Brunch possible, in particular Martin Swindon who stepped forward to lead the troops and cook for us and Paul Morgan who organised the whole event and collected all the supplies personally. Janet Willsmer and Margaret Kennedy, our fantastic admin team, were on duty all morning. General Committee members and their partners were there performing a range of roles from food prep to washing up to serving. Thanks also to Paul’s children who, as always, were amazingly helpful and worked like trojans all morning.
The bar was also incredibly busy but nobody was kept waiting thanks to the efficient and friendly service provided by our bar staff.
Another wonderful, successful, event made possible by members pulling together from all sections of the Club!
