Congratulations to Alex Farrall and George Warrington who are the new Sandhopper National Champions,
that really was some great sailing. A huge well done must go to Richard Barnes, Mark J Dell and the
little Dells as well as Allen Burrell and Mark Jewell. The top 3 boats so close together just shows the
class of sailing and completion within the Sandhopper Fleet. Thank you to everyone that took part
and supported the event. Let’s make 2023 even bigger and better

Day two for the Sandhopper National Championships is today. Racing starts at 12:30.

We are aiming to get start launching ribs at 11:00. Come and watch from the beach or even maybe .

the pier.

The awards ceremony will start circa 15 mins after the Ribs are packed away.

A Fantastic turnout for the Cadet Mini Series on last Sunday. Twenty Cadets in Picos and RS Teras, battled it out over 4 races in 13 mph winds. Cadets from 9 to 14 years old, sailed  two laps of a trapiziod course after some practise starts. Each race lasting about 10 minutes allowed sailors of all abilities to be challanged on the course. Everyone sailed really well, developing their skills lap by lap.  Well done Cadets!

It is with great sadness that I announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Graham Dare on Saturday morning last.

Graham has served on several committees and was our Results Officer for many years. Dedicating a lot of his time each week ensuring that our results were promptly recorded and scored.

He was a keen member of the Sprint 15 fleet and sailed regularly.

Our deepest sympathies got out to his wife Sandie and all his close family and friends. He will be very much missed at TBYC.

Not long now until the Sandhopper Nationals at TBYC and great to see some of those entries coming through and some surprise entries expected as well! We could have 17+ boats on the start line this year which would be fantastic.

Janet will not be able to join us this year as she is on holiday. Therefore, could I ask that you complete the paperwork promptly (By Wednesday) and make payment so this can be dealt with ahead of time.

Also, as a reminder to compete in the National Championships you must be an (Sandhopper Class British Association) SCBA Member, this is still only £10 to be a full member or £5 as an associate. If you are already a member, just a payment is required to the SCBA account (details below) with your name as a reference.  If you are not a member, can you please complete the attached form, return this as per the instructions and make the payment with you name as a reference.

The BBQ is booked for Saturday night this is £12+ per head, it will include a choice of meats and salad. The SCBA will be providing complementary nibbles and a Pimms and Lemonade as well.  Please let Mark Robinson ([email protected]) and I know if you are intending to join us for the BBQ, so we can let the chef know the expected numbers. All are welcome. Start time will be circa 18:00, Mark will confirm the full details and menu shortly.
