There will be 3 days of Cadet Race Training and a Mini Race series at the end of the Easter holidays for 11+ year old boys and girls. The training will be progressive and it is hoped that Cadets can attend all three days, however, less is still fine. The training will cater for all abilities, but the minimum requirement is to be able to sail a beat, reach and run.
We also welcome new Cadet members; a great way to meet new friends, while training and having a good time.
Dates:
Thursday 12th April 7.30 – 8.15 Training Room – Briefing and a recap on Rules, Starting and Safety
Friday 13th April – Meeting/briefing (changed) 9.00 am – On the water 9.30am
Saturday 14th April – Meeting/briefing (changed) 9.30 am – On the water 10.00am
Sunday 15th April – Meeting/briefing (changed) 10.30 am – On the water 11.00am
Reserve the dates for a great start to the season.
Parental help will be most appreciated to help on ‘Polly’ with Safety and Scoring etc.

With snow still on the ground I have taken the decision to cancel the first Oppie Beach club on Saturday 31st March.
Due to current weather and water temperature I feel conditions are not yet suited to young children (or Adults!) spending time in the water, although boats will be available should more experienced Cadets wish to use them under their own parental organisation if we have unexpected favourable conditions.
The first Oppie club will be on the 21st April. We will be running a rigging session to kick off the season on Friday 20th April at 7pm. This will cover all club cadet boats;Oppies, Picos and Laser 4.7 and go through where they are kept, rigging, and packing away procedures.
A full programme of events and training will be published on the Cadet notice board over the next couple of weeks.

The days are finally getting longer and the sunsets more spectacular, so why not head down to the Club for a lovely start to your weekend in cosy, friendly surroundings!
This week, Howard is offering a choice of the usual menu plus a wonderful Green Thai Curry or the traditional Friday Fish & Chips. He often has some other dishes available from lunchtime too, so you may find a few surprises on the menu to tempt you when you arrive! A nice cold beer or glass of vino adds the cherry to the top for a perfect evening!
