Dear Members, Visitors and all that have enjoyed the catering at Thorpe Bay Yacht Club for private events.
The catering Manager Howard Fruin, due to personal reasons, has tendered his resignation to the club.
On behalf of all club members we would like to thank him for all of his hard work during his employment with us.
Howard’s dedication was evident through his commitment in supporting our sailing and social calendar providing excellent food that was very much appreciated.
We wish him well in his future ventures and look forward to seeing him as a member socially around the club and I hope, out on the water.
Howard remains for one month and we would appreciate support for him in his final weeks as Catering Manager.
We would like to assure members that normal service will remain whilst exploring the very best for the club.
Kind regards
Steve Hopper Commodore

Dear Members,
From the afternoon of Friday 22nd , all day Saturday 23rd and Sunday the 24th of March the Catering Manager, Howard Fruin is away on annual leave.
I have secured a “Relief Chef” for this period whom I am assured is very capable and he comes highly recommended.
He will be working with Howard Friday lunch time.
I am able to announce that the current catering menu’s for all days will remain in place and will be available.
The relief chef is Lucas Wiland and he has worked at many well-known places as head chef. I would be grateful if members could support him as they do Howard.
I look forward to seeing you all using the catering facilities this Friday and Weekend.
Kind regards
Wayne A Miller
Vice Commodore.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Monica and John Howard for a fantastic quiz night last night at Thorpe Bay Yacht Club. Great organisation and a brilliant mix of questions.
An even bigger thanks to them for donating this year’s proceeds to my new charity, Big Purple Pants.
On behalf of my fellow Trustees and I – Toby, Steve Hopper, Malachy O’Sullivan, Claire Wood and Carole Sims – I would like to thank everyone who attended and gave so generously.
From a £3 per head entry fee, £5 per strip raffle and inpromptu auction, an enormous, staggering £1,615 was raised!!!
Thank you to everyone who came along, to everyone who bought raffle tickets, to everyone who donated auction items and to everyone who bid and paid for those items.
What a great club we have with wonderful people!
Thank you, thank you, thank you – you have all directly helped local people with secondary cancer. That is something to be immensely proud of.
