It is with sadness I announce that one of the club trustee’s Ann Mckinlay passed away peacefully at her care home on Friday 3rd September.
Ann a life member had been active at the club since 1951 until the last few years. Many members have fond memories of her keeping the Race Officer in check on the old red committee boat.
On behalf of the club I send our sincere condolences to Ann’s family

The Cadet Trophy called Rebellious Bowl is being raced this Sunday. The published start time is 10.30 plus 3 minutes.
The race will be sailed as part of the Club racing. I encourage those Cadets who can sail a full course unaided to participate. Read the sailing instruction for details of the start and course. TBYC-SI-2021_R2
I will give an optional briefing at 09.45 outside the Sail Training Room and ensure everyone is happy with the course and starts etc.

The club is holding the annual Bart’s Bash Race in memory of Andrew “Bart” Simpson MBE on the 11th September
You can find the NOR here. This will tell you how to donate to the Andrew Simpson Foundation and join in the global race. It also explains how this will work.
It’s a very worthy cause and hope to have a good TBYC sign up and turn out!

I encourage Cadets to join in with this Regatta. Cadets will need to be able to complete the race unaided, but with a square course and a single Start, this series of races are within the capabilities of most Cadets who have been training this year. It would be good to sail all three days, but if you can only do one or two, that is fine.
Start times for Cadet Regatta are:
Saturday 28th August 14.00
Sunday 29th August 14.30
Monday 30th August 15.30
Briefing 13.15 on Saturday by the Sail Training Room
REGISTRATION 12.30 on Saturday in the Sail Training Room. (If joining on Sunday, registration is at 13.30, Monday at 14.30)
Please complete the Registration and Consent form by printing it out, filling it in and taking it to ‘Registration’ in the Sail Training Room, as above. Extras will be available on the day. Parent-Guardian_Consent_Form 2021
There will be a Karaoke evening on Saturday in the main bar!
The Wally Cup is rescheduled to be sailed on Sunday as part of the Regatta.
Remember to SIGN ON before you leave the beach and off when you return. These Declaration sheets will be in the Bosun’s Hut.

We are meeting on the beach for a 5 minute briefing and plan to sail off at 11:00 for race training, as planned, no change. Many of our sailors are off, this could be a smaller group tomorrow. Piranhas are welcome to join in. Short course, lots of interaction and fun, talk to me or to our regular sailors / parents if you are new to this. See you: Andras
