Have you seen the race officer’s horn?

Published by under Club Notices

As you all know, the race officer has a horn when he’s on the committee boat. He has a horn when he starts the races and when he finishes them. If he is on his own, he will hold the flags in one hand and his horn in the other. But when his wife is there, she will hold the horn for him.

He normally keeps his horn hidden in the cabin. The horn has wires with crocodile clips, which he attaches to a battery. When he’s finished, the horn is disconnected and is packed away, in a wooden box.

Unfortunately, the race officer has lost his horn. I’ve had a good search for it, but to no avail. If anybody has information as to its whereabouts, please could he/she inform a member of the sailing committee.

With thanks,

Andrew Hannah.

Double Congratulations!

Published by under Catamarans

Two more Nationals titles for T. B. cat sailors were awarded at the 2009 Nacra Nationals at Weston S.C. Southampton Waters last w/e 7th&8th November. David White (“baby David”) & his crew Jon Sweet won the overall Nacra classes title in his F18 infusion against hot opposition. The decision not to go clubbing on Saturday night was wise guys & my lack of snoring was a blessing for all in Nicks camper.
The winners of the F20 Nacra class title was of course Nick Elmore & Kyle Stoneham.
These latest trophies must make it an all time club record for catamaran nationals titles in one year. The “S” Factor springs to mind!

Winter Series

Published by under Racing

A fantastic start to the Winter Series, when I looked around everyone had big grins on their faces! If you want to join in the fun, get your entry form and remittance in double quick. If you are out there racing and haven’t got round to sending your cheque in yet, then you need to send it to the club secretary straight away otherwise disqualification will be the result!
