Christmas Party 10th December 2011 Pre-order your wine and get 10% discount

Published by under Bar,Social

Christmas Party

10th December 2011

Pre-order your wine and get 10% discount

Due to the size of our current wine list we do not stock a large amount of each wine, but re-order on a regular basis.

Therefore, to avoid disappointment on the evening of the

Christmas Party, and to get 10% discount, we have introduced a wine pre order system, that allows you to select the wines of your choice from our wine list prior to the event.

The pre order forms are available from the bar, these must be completed and paid for no later than Monday 5th December 2011, to ensure that you get the 10% discount

If you do not complete the pre order form, wines will still be available to purchase on the evening of the Ball, at full price, but the selection may be limited, due to overwhelming demand on the night.

Cadet National Squad selection for Thorpe Bay boat

Published by under Cadets

Congratulations to Alex Warrington and Laura Lloyd who have been selected for National Squad training by the UK National Cadet Class. This involves training through the winter with a view to competing at the highest level next season to try and win selection for the UK National team. If successful this would see them competing in the Cadet Class World Championships in Tasmania over Christmas 2012.

PREMIUM PARKING SPACE AVAILABLE.

Published by under Club Notices,Members

….Not enough minutes in the day?

….Always running late to the club?

….Missing that all essential start by vital seconds?

….And hate that long walk on a rainy day carrying a heavy, dripping wet, freezing cold bag full of cold sailing gear down that slippery slope and across that oh so boggy field?

Well fear not, the answer to your prayer is here. Available very shortly is the best parking space at the club complete with your very own personal name plate.

Keep extra dry and warm as you open the rear door of the club and throw your bag straight into the boot of your waiting car, only a mere 5 steps from the changing room door.

If you wish to take advantage of this once in a lifetime offer, please let me know…AND if that isn’t enough, there’s more….you inherit the grand title of sailing secretary to maintain this space:)

Seriously though folks, this position still has to be filled for next year.  Give me a call if you wish to find out more about the role. You would be well supported and can even have a trial park in the space, see for yourself  how much time and effort can be saved!

So go on, be part of a successful team and help give something back to the club.

IT NEEDS YOU!

MISSING RIB KILL CORD LAST SUNDAY 13th

Published by under Club Notices,Racing

Last Sunday 13th, we were unable to provide one rib support cover due to a missing safety kill cord. The rib key, as normal, was in the box within the race officers hut, but no safety cord attached.

Could I ask that anyone entering the race hut either it be as race officer or safety crew etc, please cast an eye to ensure all keys and cords are there in future. If keys/cords are missing/damaged, please inform a sailing committee member ASAP so that it can be replaced in time for the next race.

Remember that these support boats are essential for your safety.

Thanks

Simon

Cadet AGM

Published by under Cadets

Hi all,

Thank you so much for the positive messages of support last night and welcoming me into my new role.

I know you will all agree that I have a tough act to follow, Rupert has done a fantastic job and I am very grateful that he has agreed to share his wisdom, supporting me as I settle into the role.

I am really looking forward to the next year and hope that with the support of my fellow committee members and most importantly from all the cadets we can have a fantastic year. I would like to thank Johnno Gillies and Matt Waters for offering their assistance and also to Ellie Kilkelly who has agreed to represent the girls alongside Max Duce for the boys.

With the ongoing support of Debbie, Steve, Mike, Chris, Toby, Mark and Nick I am sure we will deliver an exceptional years sailing and entertainment.

If you want to ask any questions following last night or have any ideas or suggestions please email me on [email protected]

Thanks again, Mike
