This Thursday we hope to see a change in pace from England in the World Cup. The game will be on in the club.
Why not come down and let Scott cook your evening meal and then you can sit down in the Bar for the entertainment.

A wonderful evening was had by all last night, and thanks must go firstly to Scott and his team for a really delicious meal and seamless, military precision service. Thanks to Lorraine for assisting Scott in the role of ‘Maitre D’ for the evening.
Lorraine and her bar staff worked so hard all night and never allowed a single queue to develop at the bar. Again, fantastic service that was much appreciated – thank you!
I think everyone will agree that the entertainment was one of the best we’ve ever had at the Club and we will definitely be booking them to come back at some future date.
If you missed out on one of the best evenings in a long time at the Club, keep your eyes peeled over the next few months for details about our upcoming events, including the Adult Christmas Party, and how to buy your tickets. We also have plenty of themed Friday night dining evenings to tempt you with, and of course over the summer we can use our lovely new balcony for some of these evenings.
I look forward to seeing you all at the next ‘do’!

This is your chance to read Yachting Monthly and Yachting World free every month (there is also loads more non sailing magazines on offer, over 100). Essex Libraries now have a scheme where you can check out these magazines which you can then read on Zinio either on PC or Mobile (Tablet preferred), all free of charge. You of course have to have a Essex/Southend library ticket with a valid barcode.
For more information view this link Essex Libraries e-Magazines
You will have to setup an account in e-magazines and one with Zinio and then you will be reading.
Unfortunately Yachts and Yachting isn’t currently available. Fingers crossed for it’s later inclusion.

The standard of racing was extremely high at this year’s BSDRA Thames Valley Team Racing Championships at Bray lake.
There were 21 teams competing, aged between 12 and 18 in a total of 106 races on Saturday 7th June. During the first set of races the teams are seeded into four divisions, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Novices. Our young TBYC team won enough races to be placed in the Bronze division, which was an achievement in itself. |
They continued to communicate and sail well as a team, and considering their overall age, their sailing was impressive, against much older sailors. They performed a number of Pass-backs, Mark traps and Pinning maneuvers and were determined right to the end.
It may have been a most daunting experience at times, but they achieved a pleasing =12th place out of 21 teams. They were awarded the Best Newcomers’ Cup! |

Following a couple of enquiries, I would like to confirm that the dress code is ‘smart’ rather than strictly ‘black tie’. Lounge suits/blazers may be worn if preferred.
If you haven’t already purchased tickets and would like some, there are a few left. Please let me know if you’re interested, if possible by Wednesday 11th June.
