15 young sailors had a great time sailing to Thames Estuary Yacht Club with Cadets from TEYC on Sunday. Upon arrival they enjoyed a BBQ and games. The event was organised by Andras, with thanks.

The club tow car (BMW X3) is available to launch RIBs (any club member with a clean license over 25 is insured to drive it)

If you have a duty coming up and want a refresher on what to do please come along to any race and let the Duty Officer know if you would like to join a displacement or the committee boat to help / observe.

Don’t forget you can swap a duty with a VOLUNTEER PLEASE duty by emailing [email protected]

• Get out on the water and practice! – Stingrays 27th July, Piranhas & Barracuda’s 28th July, sail to TEYC 21st July
• All cadets need to wear a full wetsuit, buoyancy aid, boots – spray top, hat, sunglasses, gloves are useful
• Adults will require a buoyancy aid while on and in the water and parents must remain of the club site throughout the week

It is with sadness that I announce that John Glynn a long standing and active sailor until the last couple of years passed away peaceful today.
John had been a member since 1975 and also sailed at Halfway Yacht Club.

Funeral arrangements will be circulated when known.

On behalf of TBYC we send our condolences to his brother Peter and all his family.

We are pleased to report that 12 cadets successfully completed the Stage 2 Youth Sailing Course last weekend.
Our sailors made great progress over the two days, developing their sailing skills and knowledge.
We could not have had better conditions allowing us to teach all elements required in depth.
We benefitted hugely from our newly qualified Assistant Instructors.
