Margarson 3rd in Jester Challenge Race

Published by at 08:49 under Cruising

John finished the solo race from Plymouth in the UK to the Azores at 1145 on Thursday 12th June in third place out of a field of 34. He took just under 12 days to sail 1200 miles by himself.

I have received the following email from him today.

“Lucy did extremely well for a Thorpe Bay mud boat. An extreme French race boat with experienced skipper only got here a few hours before me. He has been onto his designer and they are shocked that I am here so quickly. All is well. Stop dreaming, there is a Centaur in the race and entered for the next race.

Kepp well love to all at Thorpe Bay, John Margarson”

Well done John! Don’t know what you were sailing but a brilliant result, safe voyage home.

A fantastic result John. Well done! Thorpe Bay Yacht Club is proud of you. I wonder how well the frenchman would have done if his boat had to lie at our moorings.

Tell me John, what happens when the buoys run out on this side of the Azores?
