Winter Series

Published by under Racing

A fantastic start to the Winter Series, when I looked around everyone had big grins on their faces! If you want to join in the fun, get your entry form and remittance in double quick. If you are out there racing and haven’t got round to sending your cheque in yet, then you need to send it to the club secretary straight away otherwise disqualification will be the result!

He’s Done it Again !

Kyle Stoneham decided not to defend his Inland Sprint 15 National title at Grafham last week end (he wanted to but you can only sail one boat at a time unfortunately!). Instead he opted to join up with Hugh Styles at the same venue & & compete in the F18 Inland Nationals sailing a Nacra Infusion. Some very hairy racing especially on Sunday created eventful situations for all competitors but guess who came through to win? Team Styles & Stoneham are the 2009 F18 Inland National Champs.

Kyle Wins Tornado Nationals 2009

Published by under Catamarans,Nationals,Racing

Over a busy weekend at Whitstable, Kyle won the Saturday Series with one first and two seconds. He then went on to score a third and double points in the Forts Race Tornado medal series race to secure overall victory. A supreme effort by Kyle and Oliver Herve in what was their first ever Tornado national event. None of ther other Tornado sailors had met this all conquering team from Thorpe Bay Yacht Club – but they wont forget them in a hurry either !

Congratulations to David White for winning the F18 series beating a profesional crew from Nacra UK to score a sensational series win with a large fleet of very competative sailors.

Nick Elmore and Sam Spratt came second in the mixed fleet to complete a great event.

Thorpe Bay Yacht Club was mentioned more than any other at yesterday’s prize giving – certainly an impressive set of results.
