Our prize giving begins at 7.3o pm this coming Saturday. If you’d like a fish and chips supper to sustain you through the ceremony you need to buy you ticket today! Let’s see all 101 deserving winners in the Club on Saturday evening to receive their award and recognition of their acheivement.

Following a meeting last night the Club’s General Committee wish it to be known to club members that they are against any works to the sea defences that require us to have our access to the beach hindered by the installation and use of a sliding flood gate at the entrance to the slipway. Members should lobby their councillors to back alternative schemes which will not affect our beach or immediate foreshore.

The Flag officers of the club are in contact with all parties who have interests in the Sea Wall project and will try and ensure the clubs interests are maintained.

For the next three weeks the club is undergoing a full electrical rewire. There will be disruption to the normal running of the club but bars and kitchen will remain open as usual.

Members are asked to be aware that we will be alternating bars whilst this work is completed.

All Dinghy, Catamaran and Kayak owners with craft in the Dinghy park are reminded that these are to be removed immediately after the End of Season Trophy on Saturday 19th October 2013 unless entering the Winter and Icicle Series or having submitted the appropriate Winter Storage Application Form.

All Sailboards are to be removed from the Top Racks before the End of Season Trophy.

Entry and Storage Forms are available on the links below or from behind the bar and need to be received by the Hon. Secretary with the appropriate fee by Friday 18th October 2013.

Tonight is the planning hearing for the proposed seawall, please attend to show support for this to be refused.

The Council are now intending to press ahead with the controversial sea wall project. This will see a flood gate erected at the launch ramp of the club and a large wall along our foreshore.

I would just like to thank everyone who turned up for the work party on Saturday , we managed to complete all tasks that needed doing thanks to the weather, a great turn out and hard work. Also thanks to Barbara who single handedly provided the refreshments.

Well done everyone.  What a great day and a great turn out.  We were lucky with the weather and lucky to have Rob organising us.  Thank you to Rob for coordinating the Event, Thank you to those who volunteered during the week to take responsibility for jobs and those who turned up and worked their hardest to keep our club looking good and working well.

Just a reminder that there is a work party this Saturday the 12th. I will be there from 9am, if I am not around please find a  list in the foyer and  allocate yourself a job .  We have many jobs to do so hope to see lots of you there.  I have arranged sausage or bacon sandwiches and refreshments.
