This is open to Cadets who can sail a short Trapezoid course (Beat, Reach and Run).
It is aimed at those Cadets who do not regularly sail in the Main Clubs races.
Ideal for Piranhas and Barracudas with support as needed.
14.30 Briefing on the Sea wall. (Please be changed and rigged).
14.45 Leave Beach
Please do this ASAP as I need to arrange support cover according to numbers.
and prepare Race and Attendance sheets.

All cadets need to wear a full wetsuit, buoyancy aid, boots – spray top, hat, sunglasses, gloves are useful
Check your boat is in good working order – boats must have sail numbers and 8m painters
All adults on and in the water are required to wear a buoyancy aid. Stingray parents are expected to be in the water to lift the child in and out of the Oppies

15 young sailors had a great time sailing to Thames Estuary Yacht Club with Cadets from TEYC on Sunday. Upon arrival they enjoyed a BBQ and games. The event was organised by Andras, with thanks.

We are pleased to report that 12 cadets successfully completed the Stage 2 Youth Sailing Course last weekend.
Our sailors made great progress over the two days, developing their sailing skills and knowledge.
We could not have had better conditions allowing us to teach all elements required in depth.
We benefitted hugely from our newly qualified Assistant Instructors.

Applications are now open for the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme – Stage THREE at TBYC

Application form for the RYA Stage 3 Course and Assessment on Saturday 6th and 7th July 2024 starting at 09.30 each day, finishing at 17.30 at Thorpe Bay Yacht Club. (Registration is at 9.15 on Saturday). This course is aimed at Cadets who can sail confidently, or have gained Stage Two with one year’s experience. Normally, Year 7 or above.
There are 12 places available on this course.
The course is designed by the RYA to ‘……develop rigging and sailing techniques.
The course requires two full days of ‘on-the-water’ training, classroom and field activities and assessment. Every candidate must complete both days and reach a reasonable standard to be awarded ‘RYA Stage Three’, a nationally recognised certification. Appropriate clothing must be worn. The course is run by your RYA Qualified Club volunteer coaches.
The cost is £30 to cover administration, RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Book (G11) if not already have one, Certification and RYA Registration. Please wait until your application has been accepted before making payment.
