Saturday 14th July Fun Day

Published by under Bilge

We will be holding our annual fun day out by the Mulberry Harbour on Saturday 14th July.

Everyone is welcome the more boats, toys and people the better, the committee boat will be out to ensure we have a toilet and cooking facilities, bring your packed lunch, soups and drinks these can be stored on the committee boat, all 4 Seasafes will be going, why not try a different boat to sail, water ski, donut or rounders?

For those of us taking boats we will be leaving TBYC from 10.30 if you are not taking a boat you can catch a ride on any seasafe or walk out later.

always a good day. Ive booked the sun and 28 degrees,. if the sun is late showing up don’t worry thats why we have wetsuits!

TBYC Catering

Published by under Catering,Club Notices

Following the termination of Purple Chilli Catering we appointed Waller Catering for a trial period. Waller Catering came to TBYC with glowing references and a history of fine food catering.

Over the past two weeks we have had many concerns raised from the members with the catering and have now subsequently ended the trial period with Waller Catering.

Rather than close the kitchen we have taken the decision to keep it open for the normal Club Menu.

We have held on to our cook Keith who has agreed to work with the club until the appointment of a new caterer can be made.

The General Committee will sit next Monday 16th July and will review a number of catering options for club.

I have to thank our Vice Commodore Martin Swindon with whom I have been working closely, to try to resolve this matter in the best way to suit all members.

I would also like to thank you, the members, for your support during this period of change,

Nick Elmore

Commodore

Nore Race 2012 TBYC shows the way to victory

Published by under Club Notices

Congratulations to David Hopper & Paul Dell for winning the mono hull class in a 29er,(they were flying)

Mike Thomason was second in a Pico ( fantastic effort)

Jeremy Sandford & Julian Reichert were first in the fast catarmaran section in their Hurricane also taking line honours.

Matt Rainbow and his TBYC crew were second in the cruiser section missing the top spot by a few seconds.

The conditions saturday were tough with 30mph winds and rough seas, first class performance from quality sailors.

TBYC @ the 2012 J80 Worlds

Published by under Racing

Congratulations to Nic Barnes who, sailing with Rob Larke and his team, came 6th, out of an entry of 76 boats, in this year’s J80 World Chapionships at Dartmouth last month.

Nic hasn’t been at TBYC much over the last 10 months due to the J80 commitments and is now looking forward to a little more local sailing!
