Fast Cats/Hurricanes

Fast Cats

Welcome to the Fast Cats at TBYC

Welcome to the Fast Cats page. This does also encompass the Windward/Leeward Fleet as its called. This covers all Catamarans with a PN <850, Asymmetric Monohull boats with a PN <930 and any Foiling Moths. The Largest class amongst these is the Hurricane 5.9 SX. We have around 15 boats in the fleet enjoying the great class racing this provides. With a large asymmetric spinnaker, twin trapeze and square top mainsails, these boats are a tremendous bang for your buck! Decent boats can be bought for a couple of thousand and provide some very exiting racing.

The Hurricane fleet also travels and joins in with the other Hurricane fleets around the country for Open meetings and every other year we compete in the Eurocat Event in Carnac, France. For those with lets say, a larger wallet, we have a Nacra 20 Carbon in the fleet. An amazing piece of kit, very powerful, very light and very fast. Not for the inexperienced crews but gives one hell of a kick when it flies.

Among the monohulls, we have 3 Musto Skiffs. A superb boat for those a little more athletic. Huge entertainment flying down wind trapesing off the racks and hanging on to the kite for dear life!
