Cruiser North

NORTH Venture through the Havengore Bridge into the tranquil Roach and Crouch rivers, or chart a course around Foulness Island to discover the Blackwater, Colne, West Mersea, Hamford Water, Rivers Orwell, and Deben. These Essex and Suffolk rivers are hidden gems, perfect for exploration and unforgettable cruising memories.

Cruiser East

EAST Sail past the dramatic WWII forts to Whitstable, Margate, and Ramsgate. For the truly adventurous, cross the Channel to France and cruise up the coast to Belgium and the Netherlands. Or, head down the French coast to Boulogne, Dieppe, or Le Havre. These iconic destinations will challenge your navigation skills and help you build sea miles, all while soaking up the thrill of international cruising.

Cruiser South

SOUTH Head for the River Medway, calling at Queenborough, Stangate Creek, Gillingham, Medway yacht club, and Chatham. From Queenborough, you can sail the scenic backwaters of the Isle of Sheppey on the River Swale. Glide under the Kingsferry Bridge and meander up the Creeks of Conyer, Oare, or Faversham. If you prefer, drop anchor for a pint at the welcoming Harty Ferry.

Cruiser West

WEST Journey up the Thames to the heart of London, a voyage packed with sights and stories. Pass the impressive London Gateway and Tilbury Docks, sail under the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, and sail past the Woolwich Ferry and through the Thames Barrier. Marvel at the Dome, circle the Isle of Dogs, and cruise by the historic Cutty Sark and Maritime Museum at Greenwich. Cross Longitude 000° and continue to the iconic Tower Bridge an adventure that brings the city's maritime history to life.

Embark on day sails to the River Medway, The Swale, Benfleet, or Leigh-on-Sea. Plan weekend getaways to Chatham, Burnham, Bradwell or Brightlingsea marinas.  With more time, take on longer adventures to the Rivers Deben and Ore, Southwold, or even across the North Sea to France, Belgium, and Netherlands.
  • Moorings: Enjoy the freedom of drying moorings, perfect for bilge and lifting keel yachts; giving you flexibility and convenience for your cruising adventures. Our club-run support boats are ready to help you get to and from your mooring during dinghy racing times, and outside those hours, club rowing dinghies are available for your use.
  • Prefer to get hands-on? You can walk out to your boat, clean off any weed or barnacles, and prepare for departure just in time for when you float, maximising every precious minute on the water.
  • Join the Racing Spirit: Cruisers can also participate in select club races, the Riverbank Trophy, and Interclub passage races, including the famous Nore Race.

Our moorings are reasonably priced and easy to maintain, making yacht ownership more accessible. Plus, your boat is always watched over from the clubhouse, giving you peace of mind whenever you're ashore.

Hassle-Free Winter Storage

  • Winter Lay-Up: From October to April, smaller cruisers can be lifted out at the club, with local facilities available for larger yachts.
  • Parking and Boat Park Facilities: The club offers ample free car parking, so you'll never have to worry about finding a space. The boat park is fully equipped with free power and water, making it easy to carry out maintenance.
