Cruiser Rescue

Published by at 17:10 under Club Notices,Cruising,Sandhoppers

Well done to Peter Thompson & Rupert Snow from the sandhopper fleet for spotting one of our cruisers in trouble drifting in very windy conditions with 5 people aboard, They swam out to seasafe 3 and effected a rescue and tow back to the mooring.

TBYC are very lucky to have such diligent and competent people who are willing to take it upon themselves to help others.

Thank you also to the RNLI who  attended and assisted with securing the vessel and bringing the crew ashore .

De ja vue Barry, brings back memorys of us going to the rescue of a Seasafe in the dark not so long ago. Nice to see the cruiser section helping dinghy section then, and the dinghy section helping the cruiser section now. Thank you to RNLI Pete and Rupert.

Yes wayne that was such a laugh searching in the dark, always nice to help out at sea & makes for some great bar stories.

I would like to add my own thanks to Peter Thompson and Rupert Snow. This is what club sailing should be about, being there for one another.

    Thanks again to the RNLI

    Well done and thanks indeed.

I especially like the use of the phrase “one of our cruisers” given what has happened of the past week, at least some people think of the cruisers as part of the same club.
