I would like to praise the work of our Sailing Secretary. Organising a national championship has its dificulties. Howard Hawkes has had to organise two championships this summer.

The work is all behind-the-scenes. Howard would have to agree the sailing instructions with the class association, the race officer, and the club. In the case of the Finns, he had admirable support from the local fleet of Finns, principally John Heyes and Allan Burrell.

"A hard act to follow" has become a cliche. But in Howard's case, it will be.

Thanks Howard!
