Brass Monkey Race – Leigh on Sea

Published by at 08:35 under Racing

John Charles of Leigh-on-Sea Sailing Club has been kind enough to contact me and point out that their Brass Monkey race will take place on Sunday December 18th, 2 – 4pm. This is a correction to the 27th December, which may have been published in some of our sailing programmes.

TBYC have a proud history of attending this event and taking away their brassware. Indeed I believe it’s Darren Fitchew’s turn to polish the monkey and return it in time for this event. Sailing instructions and the entry form are available via the links below: –

do we have a plan for the club racing on that day as it’s also a TBYC winter series race?

I’m open to suggestions. Two thoughts I’d had: –
Merge the 2 races, so everyone sails round to LSC, pays their tenner and competes in the Brass Monkey. We strip the winter Sunday results out of Hals. Not sure this would garner much support.
Allow Avg points for people entering the LSC event. Not sure if this could just be done. I think we have our next G.C. before then, so perhaps it could be discussed then
    Any other thoughts?

    Regards
    Gary
