The Kit Hobday race was held in scintilating conditions: a stiff force 6 with brilliant sunshine. It was a terrific romp for the Sprints. As anyone who has ever sailed a catamaran will tell you, their speed is breathtaking. They are also safe, stable and affordable. Shaun wonders how the club will develop in the next 60 years. I only hope our cadets will be given the same thrill, as our cat sailors of today. I agree with what Shaun and Robin have written.

I have had a fantastic time with Mike on his Sandhopper over the last few weeks and our practise is starting to show some results, with a mid fleet position rather than at the back. Will we hit our peak for the Nationals ? a bit more practise needed but we should not be afraid to aim for a top 10 finish. It was interesting to hear from Ken how the club has developed over the last 60 years as the photo's on the club wall depict. It is also exciting to be a member of a club that wants to continue developing, we have a dedicated committee that work hard to take us forward. The Pico series has seen up to 35 boats out this year which is a direct result of the success from the sailing training programme we have for new members and cadets. Club racing is competitive but you only have to ask for some help and advice on how to make your boat go quicker to find that our seasoned pros are happy to share their knowledge. So what's in store for the next 60 years? If I am still here I'll be showing you my telegram from the King. One thing is for sure the success will be down to the hard work that members put in, so thank you past commodores, Gordon & team and all those behind the scenes that have the enthusiasm to make TBTC what it is.
