TBYC’s Olympic hopfull Mark Asquith (TBYC Member) is currently out in the Bahama’s looking forward to the 49er World championships. This event is important to all olympic hopefulls in this class as it lasts to the victor for almost 2 years!!! being at the start of the year 2010 and the next worlds being in Perth Australia at the end of 2011. So who wins here enters in the the olympic selection event in Perth as no 1 prospect

The event starts on the 2nd Jan same day as the Frozen Sheet’s Race but I think the simularity ends there!!!

Racing starts on 4th Jan and can be followed on the following link http://www.49erworlds.org/

I personally with Mark & Paul every sucsess and will be keenly following the results

Only to have the second day cancelled again.

All I can say is that the race officers had it right. As some of the good guys decided to take the bladeridder FX demo boat out for a sail this lasted approx 3 mins before the boat spectacularly folded up!!!

Moths obviously don’t sail in 30knts!!!

Hoping for some racing tommorrow

Hi all, Not much going on here sailing cancelled on first day due to high winds

 

Boat is now fully preped following a 10 hour day in the dinghy park!!!

 

Lots of help from the good guys V friendly class

Have attempted to attach a small vid clip of practice last thursday

 

Hopefully Sailing will start tommorrow Mon 7th July

2 Club members are off to the moth worlds in 2 weeks time David Hopper (Cadet) and Danny Clark. The event is from 5th July to 11th July.

I will try to keep you updated with there progress
